The Society hosts regular members’ meetings which from September 2019 are being moved to a larger and more central venue:

Assembly Rooms, Town Hall, Sudbury CO10 1TL. There are limited on street parking spaces on Market Hill and North Street.

Entry is £3 for members and £5 for non members and everyone is welcome to attend.

Disappearing wildlife in Sudbury and East Anglia – and what we can do about it

February 27, 2020, 7pm - 8.30pm

Ross Bentley has been Environment Editor at the East Anglian Daily Times, is a trustee of the Sudbury Common Lands and has a keen and wide-ranging interest in the state of our region's wildlife. He has talked with many scientists, naturalists, writers, farmers, landowners, volunteer and observers over the past few years and encountered many of the habitats and creatures native to this area. He will be sharing what he has learnt about the state of wildlife in and around Sudbury today and what we can all actively do to try to preserve as much as possible. All welcome.

AGM plus Cheese & Wine Evening

March 26, 2020, 7pm - 8.30pm

We will be reviewing 2019 and voting for election of Society officers at our AGM - a very important date so please do your best to attend and share your views on how the Society needs to move forwards. Following essential business, we will be enjoying some fine cheese and wine, donation very much welcomed!

Sustainable Travel? The electric vehicle revolution

April 23, 2020, 7pm - 8.30pm

April's member meeting will include a presentation by Linda Graves, CEO of EV Driver. Linda is a passionate innovator and entrepreneur with a background in renewable energy technology for domestic/small scale commercial customers, floating solar plant and will tell us about E-mobility infrastructure and transitioning to electric vehicles. Don't miss it!

Amazing Bees

May 28, 2020, 7pm - 8.30pm

Kevin Thorn from Stour Valley Apiaries will be talking to members on 28th May about bee-keeping in our area and the amazing role that bees play in pollination and sustaining an eco-system. It's not just about the delicious honey!
