An attractive pair of mid-19thC houses with the basements at pavement level giving them quite a metropolitan feel. Semicircular brick door arches surround simple fanlights and the brickwork around the doors and windows is chamfered. Cast iron window lintels - perhaps from Green's iron works just along the Lane and the iron railings may have come from the same source. Views differ on the merits of cleaning off the natural patina from old bricks.
