A very attractive courtyard development designed by Ralph Carpenter, Modece Architects, and built between 1986 and 1990. They are aligned to take maximum benefit from the sun's heat. The detailing is well considered and the houses use a limited palette of colours - grey slate, creamy white walls and white woodwork. There is a spaciousness about the whole development. No 18 (separate image) is a much earlier 1930s(?) house formerly the home of the manger of the adjacent town gasworks, modernised and incorporated into the development.
