This imposing property in the neo-Georgian stylewas built as the Town Post Office in 1911/12. The architect was Arthur Howard LRIBA. His use of a vibrant redbrick for the lintels, sills and corner quoins provide visual interest and contrasts with the gleaming white stone and brownish brick used elsewhere. Possibly the first major building in Sudbury to use imported bricks rather than those available locally.
