Chilton – A New Book

The Society’s former Chairman, David Burnett, has recently published a new book based on the history of Chilton.  After 18 months or so of research the result is this profusely illustrated story which begins in the Late Bronze Age, incorporates the discovery of Saxon treasure and riotous behaviour in the church, and comes right up to date with the August wedding – the first for 21 years and the first ever conducted by a woman priest.

The book is full of the memories of Chiltonians past and present and attractively priced at £8.95. It is available from the TIC (in the Library), the Kestrel Bookshop in Friars Street and online from Beckham Books  beckhambooksonline.com
