FORTY YEARS A LEARNER
In 1982 Ian Wigston appeared on BBC2's The Money Programme where he was interviewed by Valerie Singleton of Blue Peter fame. How this came about is one of the stories Ian will tell in this wide ranging and entertaining evening, which will form the basis of the new book he is writing, based on his experiences as a coach and leadership mentor.
Ian Wigston is an author, coach and leadership development consultant who has lived and worked in Sudbury for the last fifteen years. In his talk he will share his experiences of working with organisations around the world. He will also share how the pandemic, which initially threatened his business, enabled Bright Field Consulting to expand their network of clients. He and his team work with organisations as varied as Boeing, Barclays Bank, the Church of England, the UK Government and more than 200 schools from Australasia to South Africa.
He is regarded as one of the most innovative thinkers in the education sector and recently has designed and led a mentoring programme for future women leaders described by The Times as "unique". His first book, written jointly with his wife Hilary was The Magic in the Space Between and tells the story of how the Global Mentoring Network for Aspiring Leaders was developed from Gainsborough Street.
