Sudbury Borough Council was responsible for much of the development above the Melford Road in the 1920s and 30s. Although built to a budget the design of these houses reveal the hand of a trained architect and a respect for local building traditions. This pair are a good example - nothing elaborate, a deep tiled roof with a central shared range and two projecting wings.
