In the 19th/early 20th century Sudbury was notable for its yards - clusters of working class housing grouped behind the main street frontages. Some survive along with their original Victorian cottages but here in Brand's Yard the original cottages have been replaced by a late 20th century terrace. The properties have no great architectural distinction but they work remarkably well in their setting.
