Corner House was designed by local architects James Blackie (Tricker Blackie Associates) 2000-1 and extended by architect Stephen Thorpe 2007-8. The use of a warm red brick reflects that used in the neighbouring terrace Nos 8-11. Corner House presents its back to the Straw Lane/ School Street junction, with just a few high-level windows and the front door, but takes full advantage of its position with all the main rooms and windows facing south around a courtyard. Good modern design which integrates with the older elements in the townscape.
