This is one of a number of surviving coach houses in this part of town belonging to the wealthier local residents. A gig or small carriage was housed on the ground floor, along with stabling for the horse, and the upper floor was used for storing hay. This white brick example belonged to Ivy Lodge. It has been sympathetically converted to residential use and adds interest and variety to the local street scene.
