North Street 64-65

Commercial

A handsome pair of properties built for Ambrose Prentice, Grocer and Tea Dealer, in 1833 - his initials and the date are on the cornerstone of No 65 which may have been his shop with his private house next door. The blank window above the pair of doorways is probably original, giving regularity to the facade. The two modern shopfronts date from the late 20thC.
