The fine mid- Victorian facade of No 48 is easily missed by pedestrians passing below but repays study- the detailing around the arched windows and along the string course is very crisp. On the return frontage to Weavers Lane the brick is rendered and then scribed to resemble stone whilst the ground floor window lintels are cast iron.
