This late Victorian frontage has changed very little since it appeared in a 1906 advertisement as W.J.Backler's Clothing Stores. Since then it has been divided into two properties. The alternating design of the first floor sashes is little odd but gives the building a touch of individuality as do the projecting dormer windows above.
