No 1 probably dates back to the late 19thC. The windows are modern UPVC but replicate the original glazing pattern. It makes quite a powerful visual statement but it is included as much for it local interest as its appearance. In the 20thC it was the town's nursing home where successive generations of Sudburians were born.
